Kirkhill Bowling Club, Penicuik (KBC) is an
applicable organisation under the Data Protection Act (1998) and
the General Data Protection Regulations (2018). This Policy
applies to Personal Information collected by KBC, and sets out the
principles governing our processing of that information, and the
way we use, keep secure and disclose it. |
When you register as a member of Kirkhill
Bowling Club, Penicuik or renew your membership (including if you
are registering or renewing on behalf of a child under the age of
18), we will ask you for the following personal information: |

number (land and/or mobile), email address (if applicable),
date of birth and membership category – Junior, Ordinary,
Honorary, or Social

We process our members’ personal information

provide you with any information relevant
to Kirkhill Bowling Club, Penicuik.

share your name and membership category
with Bowls Scotland who will become a controller of your
personal information when they receive it.

we are under a legal obligation to process
certain personal information relating to our members for the
purposes of complying with our obligations under the
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 to check
that our coaches and volunteers are able to undertake
regulated work with children and vulnerable adults.

you have the right to object to us using your personal
information for the above purposes.

sent to other Bowling organisations, please contact us by
emailing secretary@kirkhillbowlingclubpenicuik.org.uk or
writing to The Secretary, Kirkhill Bowling Club, Kirkhill
Road, Penicuik, EH26 8JB. Please note that this objection
would affect your ability to represent Kirkhill Bowling Club,
Penicuik at local and national level.

Who we share your personal information

We may be required to share personal
information with statutory or regulatory authorities and
organisations to comply with statutory obligations. Such
organisations include, Disclosure Scotland, and Police Scotland
for the purposes of safeguarding children. |
Security |
We strive to protect the privacy and security
of our database, and to maintain the reliability and accuracy of
Personal Information. We will hold information collected by us on
a computer and in other forms. Although we cannot guarantee the
security of all transmissions of personal information, especially
where the internet is involved, we take all reasonable steps to
prevent this from happening. You accept the inherent security
implications of providing information and will not hold us
responsible for any breach of security or disclosure of
information unless we have been proved to be negligent. |
How long we keep your personal
information |
We will only keep your personal information
for as long as you are a current member of Kirkhill Bowling Club.
Penicuik. Where you have not renewed your membership we will
delete your personal data after one year. |
Photographs |
We may take photographs of you attending
matches or other events and we may wish to use them for marketing
and advertising purposes, or publishing on our website. Unless you
advise us otherwise, you expressly agree and consent to the use of
any photographs which may include you without compensation. We
will not use the images taken, or any other information you
provide, for any other purpose. |
We will not include details or full names
(which means first name and surname) of any person in an image on
our website, on video, or in printed publications, without good
reason. For example, we may include the full name of a competition
prize winner if we have their consent. |
Your rights |
